We are located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in the Southern Colorado Rockies and manage 500 acres of meadow and forest park pastures at 7800’ elevation. Our private ranch is comprised of great forest diversity including Aspen, Ponderosa pine, Blue spruce, White fir, Douglas fir, and Engelmann spruce. The landscape contains many types of shrubs and berry producing trees and plants that our Yaks love to eat throughout Summer months. Our Yaks are free to range as a herd on the entire property. They take daily walks to find us and see what we are doing… Yaks are naturally social creatures.
We purchased our original stock Heifers from Bob Stuplich & our Bull & steers from Shannon Holder of Yaks Matter Ranch in 2017. Our breeding focus is to produce tame fiber yaks, grey nose yaks being our preference of color.
We are members of the USYaks Association where we learn breeding techniques for fiber color & quality, meat, packing, and pasture pets. We participate in the annual National Western Stock Show in Denver, you can find us at the Yakspo fiber zone for more information.
